What we collect when you use this site, who receives it, and how to ask us to delete it.

The short version. We collect what you send us through a form, plus standard analytics about how the site is used. We do not sell your information. We use Google Analytics and the Meta pixel, so those companies receive data about your visit. You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to delete it, by writing to info@velant.us.
This website, velant.us, is operated by Velant LLC, a limited liability company based in Orange County, California. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Velant LLC. “You” means anyone who visits the site or contacts us through it.
We build, host and maintain websites, and provide IT and marketing services to businesses. This policy covers the website. If you become a client, the agreement we sign with you governs how we handle data inside your own systems.
Information you give us. When you submit a form on this site, we receive what you typed into it. That is normally your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, and whatever you write in the message. We keep form submissions so we can answer you and keep a record of the conversation.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and how long you spend on them. This comes from our hosting provider’s logs and from the analytics tools listed below.
Information from cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them to remember your cookie choice, to keep language preferences, and for the analytics and advertising tools described below.
We do not ask for, and do not want, sensitive information through this website. Please do not send us payment card numbers, government identification numbers, health information or passwords through a web form or by email.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s independent marketing. We do use other companies to run the site and the business, and those companies receive information in the course of doing that work. They are:

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, where we need to establish or defend a legal claim, or to protect the safety of a person or the security of our systems. If our business is ever sold or merged, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
When you first visit, a banner asks about cookies. You can change your answer at any time by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser and reloading the page.
Your browser can block or delete cookies. If you do that, the site still works, though some preferences will not be remembered. Analytics and advertising cookies can also be turned off at the source: Google offers an opt-out browser add-on, and Meta offers ad preference controls inside your Facebook account.
We honor the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends one, we treat it as a request to opt out of sharing for targeted advertising.
Form submissions and correspondence are kept for as long as we are talking to you and for up to three years afterwards, so we can pick up an old conversation and meet our record-keeping obligations. Analytics data is retained on Google’s default schedule, currently fourteen months. Invoicing and accounting records are kept for seven years, as tax rules require. Server logs are kept for a short rolling period by our host.
When a retention period ends, we delete the information or remove anything that identifies you.

Write to info@velant.us and we will respond within 45 days. We may need to confirm who you are before we act, so that we do not hand your information to someone else.
If you are a California resident. California law gives you the right to know what personal information is collected about you, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond the advertising tools named above, which you can switch off as described in the cookies section. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled a request, tell us first and we will try to put it right.
The site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to the systems that hold your information is limited to the people who need it, and is protected by strong, unique passwords and multi-factor authentication where the provider supports it. We keep the software the site runs on up to date.
No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
This site is meant for businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to info@velant.us and we will delete it.
Our site links to other places, including our own client portal and our profiles on LinkedIn and Instagram. Once you follow a link, the site you land on has its own privacy policy, and this one no longer applies.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we will say so on the site. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
